Morning Star: July 2025

Mid July 2025

I’m trying really hard. And that probably isn’t a good thing, I can’t seem to get the hang of it - maybe I never will, maybe I never did.

I place my blessed statue of Our Lady on the studio shelf. I touch her halo. I like the idea of dedicating my studio to Our Lady, Morning Star. A reflecting place. The first star of the morning seems to rise in the east just beyond this small town garage roof.

It’s been a little while since I began working there - perhaps two years - and perhaps it’s time to offer some of the work I’ve made? Anyway, I thought I’d give it a go.

These days, I try to practice making my work with my Catholic faith. Perhaps I shouldn’t ‘try to’ and just do. That’s what I’m working on. I do hope to honour Jesus Christ somehow, offer back a little bit of the beauty He has shown to me. In gratitude.

This is my first blog post, and thank you for reading it.
